2015/5/26Butte County Butte County was one of the original 27 counties. Its present territory has three histories. Most of its territory has been in Butte County since 1850. Territory in Butte County from 1850 to 1856, was moved to Tehama County when that county was The Butte County Library and Behavioral Health Department realized that they were often dealing with the same population, but from different directions. With a little cross-pollination, the library staff would have the resources they needed to deal more effectively with their clients and Behavioral Health would have another avenue to reach out to people who needed their services.

Box Butte County Fair

Locally members of the Box Butte County Fair Board met on Thursday, May 28, and decided to move forward with this year's fair. "We decided to go ahead with basically a full-fledged fair, and hopefully we can be at better than the 25 percent capacity, they're saying now," said Ron Henzler, president of the Box Butte County Fair.

2020/8/26Expedited Passport Service: Butte County Clerk/recorder provides expedited passport service with a two (2) to four (4) week turnaround time in Oroville. This is due to the fact that the Butte County Clerk/recorder sends out the application for Oroville citizens to be processed by the National Passport Center in Philadelphia for expedited services and to New Hampshire for routine service.
